Exiting Pharmaceutical Addiction

I’m helping a friend this week.  After surgery some years ago, she was given pain pills “temporarily”.  Somehow, “temporarily” became “a little longer”.  That turned into “permanent”.  The dose used to be “just a little”.  Now the dose is inordinately large, yet with no real relief.  What was once a crutch turned into a prison.

Pray you never go through what this woman is going through.  I’m only a friend, but my week has been completely rocked by what I’ve seen.  I’m not qualified to lead someone through chemical detox, and I am thankful that there are professionals who are.  But I was asked to be there for support, and I’ve done it.

Normal posts returning, but I’ve been working a little overtime this week.  (Suffice it to say that this week has served to reinforce my strong belief that natural medicine ought to be Standard of Care.)
